16th seed Daniil Medvedev takes on unseeded Arthur Rinderknech for a place in the Shanghai Masters final. The winner will face either fourth seed Novak Djokovic or qualifier Valentin Vacherot in Sunday's final. Here's our match prediction.

It's not been the best of years for Daniil Medvedev. The Russian failed to get past round two of any of the 2025 Grand Slam events. A win over Rinderknech will take him into his first hard court final of the year after three semi-final defeats.

One of those last four losses was in the recent Beijing tournament. He has continued that good form in Shanghai and has only lost one set on his way to this semi-final. The last eight saw him defeat Alex de Minaur in straight sets.

Arthur Rinderknech is attempting to reach only his second ATP Tour final, the other being in a hard court tournament in 2022. The Frenchman has also had plenty of struggles this year but has improved in recent months.

The last 16 was reached at the US Open and in Shanghai, Rinderknech has beaten four seeds. That includes third seed Alexander Zverev and in the quarter-finals, Felix Auger-Aliassime. He's up to a career-high 37th in the live rankings.
