Cori Gauff breezed past Eala three weeks ago when they matched up in Dubai for the very first time. The American won by the loss of just two games in the quarter-finals.

She will be looking to produce another dominant victory in this fixture and continue with her quest for a first Indian Wells title. The current world number four is a former semi-finalist at this event, achieving this feat two seasons ago.

Gauff, who has won 11 of 15 matches in 2026, defeated Kamila Rakhimova in the last round in straights.

Alexandra Eala has also won 11 matchups so far this season. Losing six times, the Filipino star has been one of the season’s top performers.

She has produced quarter-final finishes in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, but the season highlight is a run to the semi-finals in Auckland at the beginning of the year.

Eala, who is debuting at Indian Wells, had a tough battle in her opening tie against Dayana Yastremska. The match lasted for more than two hours and 40 minutes and saw Eala, who is up to 28th in the live ranking, win via a decider.
