by Nella Wagah in Ligue 1 Predictions
At the close of a memorable week for Brest, they will welcome Toulouse for a Ligue 1 match at Stade Francis-Le Blé. Les Ti’Zefs come into this match eyeing a second league win of the season, an ambition shared by Les Violets. Read on for our prediction.
Two points separate the teams and Brest will hope to use home advantage to leap ahead of their visitors. The hosts are coming off their first ever Champions League game, in which they beat Salzburg 2-1 at home.
Back to domestic action, Brest have so far been off the mark, save for their big win against Saint-Etienne. They’ve suffered three losses in four matches so far and kept only one clean sheet.
In their last Ligue 1 match, Eric Roy’s side lost 3-1 to PSG, adding to earlier defeats against Marseille and Lens.
Toulouse haven't had a great league start either, with their first three matches of the season ending winless. After draws against Nantes and Nice, they hit a low in their 3-1 home defeat to Marseille.
Carles Martinez’s side, however, bounced back in the last game, beating Le Havre 2-0. Their scoring form has been improving by the week, after starting goalless against Nantes. Warren Babicka’s and Yann Gboho’s goals were the team’s third and fourth this season.
With two clean sheets so far, Toulouse can afford to look at the coming game with some positivity. The visitors will need it as they have no win in this fixture in the last six meetings.
They will also be banking on an impressive recent away league form which reads five matches unbeaten.

Our Brest vs Toulouse Prediction
Brest struggled at the start of the season but seem to be creeping back to normalcy, with their biggest weapon being in attack. There’s still work to be done in defence as they go for their second clean sheet of the season.
Three times in their opening five matches, Brest conceded two or more goals. They will meet a side that hasn’t been great defensively either.
Toulouse have, however, maintained a level of consistency in their attack and we expect an exciting, high-scoring game here. Our prediction for Brest v Toulouse is for over 2.5 goals to be scored.
