Ben Shelton vs Marcos Giron Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Stuttgart Open

World number five Ben Shelton will face fellow American Marcos Giron in round two of the grass court BOSS Open in Stuttgart. Shelton was a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon last year and the top seed is 80 places above Giron in the live rankings. Our prediction here is that Shelton will win in straight sets.

Shelton is down to sixth in the live list, one place below his career-high. This is his first grass court tournament of the year and he received a bye into this second round. The winner here will face unseeded opposition in the last eight, either Nick Kyrgios or Sho Shimabukuro.

These two players have met three times in the past with Shelton 2-1 ahead. There have been three tie-breaks played in their last two matches. Placing a wager on there being one on Thursday may be successful.  This is their first match on a grass court.

Last year saw Marcos Giron reach the last eight of the grass court tournament played in Eastbourne. Round one of this ATP 250 event saw him defeat Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets, 7-6 7-5. That took his 2026 record on all surfaces to 16-14.

He won three of his six grass court matches played last year, but was beaten the same number of times.
