Will this weekend see Bordeaux Begles lose their grip on the European Rugby Champions Cup. The 2024-25 winners will hope that's not going to be so as they host Leicester Tigers in the last 16 of this season's competition. Read our match prediction below.
Bordeaux are the reigning European champions after beating Northampton Saints in last season's final. They have been making smooth progress in the defence of their title but face a tough task if they are to maintain France's excellent record in this competition. That's because the winners of this match will face a home quarter-final against either six-time winners Stade Toulousain or Bristol.
Leicester Tigers are in good form but most of their recent wins came in the PREM Rugby Cup with weakened line-ups being played. This is the real deal in Bordeaux and the Tigers will need to roar more than they usually do in away fixtures if they are to make it into the last eight.

Bordeaux Begles are the top seeds in the knockout stages of the European Rugby Champions Cup. They won all four of their matches in the pool stages with at least 45 points scored in three of those fixtures.
Home wins came against Scarlets and last season's losing finalists Northampton Saints with exactly 50 points scored in both of those victories. They also recorded away victories against Bulls and possible quarter-final opponents Bristol.
The Begles are fourth in Top 14 and have won eight of their ten home league games this season. At least 40 points have been scored in four of their last five home league matches. They beat Leicester at home in this competition two years ago.
Leicester struggled in their pool.
Leicester Tigers only won one of their four pool matches. That was a home win over bottom-placed Aviron Bayonnais. Their other games against Stade Rochelais, Leinster and Stormers were all lost as they finished fourth in the pool, eight points behind third place.
They are fourth in PREM Rugby, six points behind league leaders Bath. Three of their six away league matches have been won but the same number lost. A telling fact is that their trio of wins have come against the bottom three sides in the table.

Bordeaux Begles certainly look to have the upperhand in this European Rugby Champions Cup last 16 tie. They are so impressive on home soil with a string of high-scoring performances this season.
International stars will make life difficult for the Tigers.
They have named a strong line-up for this game and that means Leicester will be facing several of the players that helped France retain their Six Nations title recently. That will include high-scoring Louis Bielle-Biarrey who has been the player of the tournament in the last two Six Nations Championships.
Also in the Bordeaux line-up will be fly half Matthieu Jalibert and France's record try scorer Damian Penaud.
Leicester have failed to impress on the road this season. There's a big gap between winning at struggling sides such as Gloucester, Newcastle and Harlequins and going to France to beat Bordeaux.
They will have Australian international James O'Connor back in their team after missing last weekend's win at Gloucester. Adam Radwan is also back in the team and will start a game for Leicester for the first time since mid-January.
