Eighth seed Barbora Krejcikova faces the out-of-form Renata Zarazua in the opening round of the 2026 Libema Open. Ahead of their second career meeting, our prediction favors Krejcikova, with Zarazua currently on five straight defeats.

Krejcikova failed to move past the qualifying rounds her last time in Hertogenbosch, 10 years ago. A lot has changed since, and she now returns here as a two-time Grand Slam champion.

The 30-year-old won Wimbledon two seasons ago and will be looking to build up momentum to challenge again at SW19. Krejcikova, who has compiled an 8-6 record as she battles fitness concerns, ended the clay season with back-to-back defeats.

With a disappointing opening round defeat at the French Open last time out, the former world number two has continued to tumble in the world rankings. Krejcikova starts a new week down to 44th in the live ranking.

Zarazua defeated Krejcikova when they last met. Though that was six years ago, she will be desperate for another win to offset an alarming run of results. She has lost five consecutive matches.

This, however, is not the first time she has lost as many matches in a row this season. The Mexican dropped five consecutive fixtures in a five-week stretch between February and March.

Her current slump began immediately after a title-winning campaign at the ITF event in Charlottesville. Zarazua, who is making her grass debut this season, has dropped to 77th in the live ranking.
