The undisputed blockbuster clash of Group 1 in the Super Eight of the 2024 T20 World Cup is upon us!
Australia and India are set to do battle for the top spot in their group at the Beausejour Stadium on Monday.
India lead the group and have one foot in the semi-final, while Australia need a result here with Afghanistan breathing down their necks.

Australia - India Squad Analysis
After a very poor first phase of the competition, former India skipper Virat Kohli seems to have found some form again in the Super Eight. The Men in Blue will need another solid knock from their opener at the top of the order in this match.
Kuldeep Yadav has been the pick of the bowlers in the last two matches and will have a key role to play in support of the ever-consistent Jasprit Bumrah.
The major positive Australia would have taken from their last match was the ongoing consistency of Adam Zampa.
The Aussie spinner took another two wickets, taking his tally to 13 in the competition, now just two short of leading wicket-taker Fazalhaq Farooqi.
Australia - India Form Analysis
Indeed, the format of the T20 World Cup is such that if these two teams qualify for the semi-final and win those matches, they will meet again at the Kensington Oval on June 29 to battle for the title.
However, neither of them are guaranteed to reach the next round. India lead the group with two wins in two and have a solid net run rate of +2.425.
That means it will take a loss by a very big margin here, and Afghanistan beating Bangladesh by a very big margin to knock the Men in Blue out of the top two places.
In the Super Eight phase, they have already beaten Afghanistan and Bangladesh. With those results, India are now unbeaten in their last 11 T20 internationals dating back to December last year.
India are one of only two sides, along with South Africa that have yet to lose a match in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, most onlookers expected that heading into the final game of the group, Australia and India would already have sewn up the top two spots.
However, that is not how it has panned out as Australia suffered a shock defeat to Afghanistan in their last match, which saw the Blue Tigers pull level with them on two points.
The Aussies contained the Afghans to 148/6 but had a complete capitulation with the bat and were bowled out for 127, 21 runs short of target.
As a result, they are now on a net run rate of 0.223, while Afghanistan’s NRR is currently -0.650.
Australia have lost five of their last six T20Is against India, including a 4-1 series defeat in November and are the underdogs at the books in this match.
