Top seed Aryna Sabalenka continues with her quest for another Australian Open title and faces 17th seed Victoria Mboko in the fourth round. This will be their first career meeting, and the winner will set up a quarter-final showdown with Yulia Putintseva or Iva Jovic. Read on for our prediction of the match.

Sabalenka has been perfect in 2026 and looks primed for another triumph in Melbourne. The world number one has started the year with eight consecutive victories without a single set being lost.

She opened the campaign by defending her Brisbane title, winning five matches at the event. Sabalenka is a two-time Melbourne champion and has reached the final in each of the last three seasons.

The 27-year-old defeated Anastasia Potapova in the last round in her toughest fixture yet as she required a tiebreaker in each set.

Victoria Mboko has grown from strength to strength since bursting onto the scene last season. In 2025, the Canadian won 62 matches and claimed a WTA 1000 title as her first triumph on tour.

This year, she has won eight of 10 contests and has contested one final in Adelaide. Voted Newcomer of the Year in 2025, Mboko is having quite the Australian Open debut.

She is through to the second week of a major for the first time and has done so by losing just one set in three outings. Mboko, who has jumped to 16th in the live ranking, defeated Clara Tauson in the last round.
