Aryna Sabalenka takes on Caroline Garcia to determine the winner of the WTA Tour Finals. Sabalenka began this week ranked seventh in the world but is now up to fifth. A win here will take her above Caroline Garcia who's currently fourth in the live rankings. The Belarusian caused a major shock in the semi-finals when beating world number one Iga Swiatek in three sets. That avenged four losses to the Pole in 2022. Sabalenka is yet to win a title this year and this will be her last chance to do so. This is her third final of 2022 but the first since June and that was in a grass court championship. This tournament has already seen her lose one match. That was to Maria Sakkari in the round-robin stages. It's 2-2 between these players in previous meetings. Sabalenka won the first two but Garcia has won the last couple of matches. Three of the matches were played in 2018 but the most recent one saw Garcia win in Cincinnati in three sets.

Caroline Garcia has won three titles this year including the Cincinnati Masters event after having to qualify. Garcia had previously won in Bad Homborg and Poland, with three titles all on different surfaces. The French player went on to reach the US Open semi-final but her form then dipped. One match in five had been won before the start of these WTA Tour Finals. Like her opponent, Garcia has already lost one match in these finals, a straight sets defeat by Iga Swiatek. Wins have come against Coco Gauff and Daria Kasatkina (after dropping the first set) and then Maria Sakkari in the semi-finals, losing just five games. Back there to be over 21.5 games in this final.

Our Aryna Sabalenka vs Caroline Garcia Prediction

It's a strange final between two players who have already lost a match in this tournament. Aryna Sabalenka has one last chance to win a singles title in 2022. Sunday saw her get a win over Iga Swiatek in a match in which none of the three sets had more then eight games. Caroline Garcia lost to Swiatek earlier in the week and struggled to defeat Daria Kasatkina. Sabalenka is the favourite but does struggle with her consistency. Go for over 21.5 games in what should be a closely fought final.
