Denis Shapovalov is one win away from retaining his Los Cabos Open title. He is the only seeded player remaining in this outdoor hard court tournament  and ranked 59 places above opponent Arthur Gea. Our prediction is that Shapovalov will win this match.

There must be something about Los Cabos that inspires Denis Shapovalov.

The world number 68 won this ATP 250 tournament last year but has struggled for consistency in 2026. 

On all surfaces, only one of his last eight matches has been won. However, a return to Los Cabos has sparked a return to form for the Canadian. He has won four matches in a row and in the last four, defeated fifth seed Cameron Norrie in three sets, one of only two sets lost this week.

Arthur Gea is playing in his first ever ATP Tour final. Only two of his 19 outdoor hard court matches played this year have ended in defeat.

In the last rankings, the Frenchman was 127th but he is a career-high 100th in the live list. 

Gea had failed to get past round two of an ATP Tour outdoor hard court tournament before this week. 

He has lost a set in three of his four matches this week and beaten one seed.
