Argentina vs Wales Prediction & Betting Tips - Nations Championship

After contrasting fortunes in the opening round, Argentina and Wales go head-to-head in Round 2 of the Nations Championship on Saturday in San Juan. Wales have won their last three matches and stand a chance against Argentina, who are struggling for results recently, hence our prediction supporting the Dragons. 

Argentina came out second-best, suffering a shock 47–38 defeat at home to Scotland in their Nations Championship opener last week. Los Pumas trailed from the outset, going into halftime nine points behind before matching Scotland 28–28 in the second half.

That result marked their second consecutive Test defeat and left them second from bottom in the Southern Conference with one point. They have suffered defeat in five of their last seven Tests, making it hard to fancy the chances of comfortably acing this contest. 

Wales appear to have turned the corner after a disappointing 2026 Six Nations campaign. The Dragons edged the Barbarians 33–31 in their preparatory friendly and have carried that momentum into the Nations Championship. 

They defeated higher-ranked Fiji 39–24 in the opening round, marking their third consecutive win (including the Barbarians victory) and back-to-back Test wins. Steve Tandy's side are priced as underdogs here, but history is on their side, with the team having won both of their previous trips to face Argentina.
