Argentina vs Scotland Prediction & Betting Tips - Nations Championship

Fifth-ranked Argentina lock horns with World No.7 Scotland in Round 1 of the inaugural Nations Championship at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes on Saturday. Los Pumas have put together three wins in their last four matches against lower-ranked teams, while Scotland have endured a tough stretch on the road against higher-ranked opposition, hence our prediction in support of Argentina. 

After a last-place finish in the Rugby Championship, Argentina roared back to winning ways with back-to-back Test victories against Wales and Scotland in their end-of-year tour of Europe. They then stretched World No.6 England all the way before losing by just four points (27–23) in the final Test in London. 

Prior to that loss, Felipe Contepomi's side had swept all three of their previous meetings with lower-ranked teams. They have won two of their last meetings with Scotland, including their most recent encounter between the two sides in the Autumn Nations Series in November 2025.

Scotland head into this clash off the back of a decent Six Nations campaign that saw them finish third, five points adrift of champions France. However, an underwhelming record of just three wins in their last eight trips puts them on the back foot here. Moreover, all six of their previous away Tests against higher-ranked teams have ended in defeat (excluding the 2023 Rugby World Cup).
