Anhelina Kalinina vs Renata Zarazua Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Guadalajara

Round one in Guadalajara sees unseeded Anhelina Kalinina face wild card Renato Zarazua. For the winner, there's a second round match against either eighth seed Caroline Dolehide or Martina Trevisan. Here's our match prediction.

This is a WTA 500 hard court tournament so plenty of points to be earned this week. Kalinina is 52nd in the live rankings and most recently lost to Elina Svitolina in the second round of the US Open.

Four of her last five matches have ended in defeat. Her best recent results have come on clay but Kalinina has had some good hard court results this year. Most notably in Miami, where she beat Aryna Sabalenka 

A semi-final in Texas was also reached by the player from Ukraine who is 48th in the live WTA Race.

Her opponent is up to 85th in the live rankings after receiving a wild card into the first round of this tournament. The 26-year-old Mexican has lost her last two matches. The most recent being her first match in the Guadalajara WTA 125 event held last week.

Before that, she had mixed results in New York against players with the Christian name Caroline. Round one saw her get a win over Garcia but she then lost to Caroline Wozniaki. 

There have been some good performances on the ITF tour with a hard court final reached in Cary, but no top 100 ranked players beaten.  We tip Kalinina to win what is the first match between these two players.
