Andy Murray and Daniil Medvedev will square off in the Men’s Final of the ATP tournament in Doha this Saturday with both players looking to secure another piece of silverware and a handsome prize purse. Andy Murray took full advantage of his wildcard tag in this tournament as he put on another resilient display for the second time in the tournament when he managed to overcome Jiri Lecheka after saving an incredible five match points en route to the final. Earlier in the tournament, Murray had to save two match points against Lorenzo Sonego to advance to the second round where he overcame Alex Zverev in three sets. Alexandre Muller was next up in the quarter-final and Murray once again had to come from a set down to advance to the next round. Murray’s fighting spirit and resilience are unmatched, and the veteran will give it everything he has, though he has lost his last two encounters with this opponent.

Daniil Medvedev’s route to the final was much less eventful but showed the Russian’s recent good form, coming into this tournament fresh off a title win in Rotterdam. Medvedev took out Liam Broady in the tournament opener, and after a slip-up in the second set, he managed to overcome Christopher Oconnell 7-5 in the third set of the quarter-final. In the semis, Medvedev was drawn against Felix Auger Aliassime, who pushed the Russian all the way but was unable to come out with the victory, losing in straight sets. Medvedev has an impressive record this year of 13-2, and he will have his eyes firmly set on back-to-back titles with another win in this one.
