Anastasia Potapova, the top seed in qualifying at the Rome Open, will take on 13th seed Nikola Bartunkova next. The winner of their second career meeting will qualify for the main draw in the Italian capital. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Anastasia Potapova won in straight sets against Irina-Camelia Begu in the first round of the qualifiers. If she wins again against Bartunkova, she will qualify for the main draw in Rome for a fourth successive season.

Potapova is having a superb campaign on clay and has won 10 of 13 matches. The Austrian arrived in Rome after an excellent run to the semi-finals in Madrid as a lucky loser.

A finalist in Linz at the start of the clay season, Potapova has now won 17 matches and is up to 34th in the live ranking.

Nikola Bartunkova is playing in Rome for the first time. The Czech youngster, who had a superb start to the year, also won her opening round tie in straight sets.

Facing off with Ashlyn Krueger, Bartunkova secured her third win on clay this term by the loss of four games. She has now won 15 matches in 23 outings and has moved up seven places to 87th in the live ranking.

Bartunkova started the season by winning 10 of her opening 13 matches and even had her first victory over top 10 opposition. She has since struggled with inconsistency and is yet to win back-to-back matches since February.
