Amanda Anisimova vs Viktoriya Tomova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Korea Open

We'll definitely have an unseeded player in the last eight of the Korea Open in Seoul. Amanda Anisimova faces Viktoriya Tomova in round two of this WTA 500 outdoor hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

Whoever wins this match will face either second seed Liudmila Samsonova or unseeded Liudmila Kudermetova in the quarter-finals. Anisimova caused an upset in round one when beating the sixth seed Yulia Putintseva in straight sets.

That victory has taken her to 42nd in the live rankings, still 21 places below the career-high of 21st achieved five years ago. The 23-year-old American has won her only previous match against Tomova.

The win was in the 2020 US Open with Anisimova winning in straight sets. Last month saw her reach the final of the Toronto hard court tournament and that run included beating Daria Kasatkina, Aryna Sabalenka and Emma Navarro. 

Viktoriya Tomova hasn't got any form that can match those achievements. The world number 54 beat Tatjana Maria in round one but it took her three sets. The opening set was won but only one game was won in the second.

There were no problems for Tomova in the final set and the Bulgarian won it without dropping a game. That success has taken her up a place in the live rankings and seven spots below the career-high 46th she was in two months ago.

Five of her last six matches had been lost before her first round victory, all but one on hard courts. Her best results this year have come on clay and grass. We tip Anisimova to win this in straight sets.
