Alexander Zverev vs Carlos Alcaraz Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells

Not since 2016 has the Indian Wells title been successfully defended. Second seed and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is three matches away from repeating that fact. He has a tough quarter final though as he takes on sixth seed Alexander Zverev in this outdoor hard court tournament. Alcaraz is playing only his fourth tournament of the year and is yet to win a title. The semi-finals of the Rio clay court tournament were reached and the last eight at the Australian Open. His previous tournament saw him have to retire due to a sprained ankle. He seems to be over that though and has been in good form so far in this Masters 1000 tournament. The Spaniard has had wins over Matteo Arnaldi (losing the first set), 31st seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and in the last 16, unseeded Fabian Marozsan. Alcaraz trails Zverev 5-3 in previous meetings and it was the German who beat him at this year's Australian Open.

Alexander Zverev has been in excellent form this year. He's moved up to fourth in the live rankings and only has Jannik Sinner ahead of him in terms of ranking points earned this year. The German began the year with four wins from five singles matches. That was in the United Cup team tournament in which he was part of the winning German team. He nearly reached the Australian Open final this year. After beating Alcaraz in the last eight, he led Daniil Medvedev two sets to love in the semi-final but then lost the next three. Another semi-final was reached in Los Cabos. So far at Indian Wells, he's beaten Christopher O'Connell and Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets. The last 16 was tougher with three sets needed to beat tenth seed Alex de Minaur. He lost the first set but then won the next two for the loss of only five games.
