Second seed Luciano Darderi faces fourth-seeded Alexander Blockx in the Estoril Open semi-finals. Darderi has already reached three ATP Tour clay court finals this year and our prediction is he will beat Blockx to make it four.
In Sunday's final, the winner will take on unseeded opposition, either Hugo Gaston or Luca Van Assche.
Luciano Darderi has won one ATP Tour title this year. That was the clay court tournament played in Santiago. He also reached the final in Buenos Aires and last week in Bastad where he lost to Andrey Rublev in straight sets. Darderi has made it to this semi-final for the loss of only one set.
His opening match in Estoril saw him defeat qualifier Pedro Martinez for the loss of just one game. Friday's quarter-final was much tougher as he had to come from a set down to beat unseeded Jaime Faria, winning the final set 6-2.
Alexander Blockx has never reached an ATP Tour final. He did make it to the title decider in the Next Gen ATP Finals last year, losing to Learner Tien. He has had two three-set victories to reach this semi-final with wins over lucky loser Kyrian Jacquet (losing set one) and unseeded Roman Andres Burruchaga
