Niger’s chances of advancing to the next stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers hangs in the balance as they prepare to host African champions Algeria in Niamey on Tuesday. They go to the game placed third with three points, having only beaten Djibouti in Group A. Meanwhile, Algeria are joint top with Burkina Faso on seven points. Islam Slimani will be the biggest threat to Niger in this game; he scored twice in the 6-1 mauling, taking his tally to six in three matches. Both sides have however scored in four of their last five away matches. In World Cup qualification, Algeria are unbeaten in the last four matches, drawing two and winning two, but both teams have scored in all four.
