Sinner searching for redemption in SW19
The stage is set. The anticipation is palpable. The world’s number one and number two-ranked men’s singles players are about to face off in what is expected to be an epic showdown, and you can check out our Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction right now for all the info you need to know ahead of this clash.
For Sinner, the 2025 Wimbledon final isn’t just about getting his hands on the coveted Wimbledon trophy; it is also a major opportunity to get his revenge on the one player who has proven a thorn in his side in recent times.
The world number one’s route to the final has seen several injury-impacted matches, both for himself and his opponents. He has worn a compression sleeve for his last two games due to an issue with his right elbow, but has largely looked unhindered by it.
In the round of 16, Sinner looked to be on the verge of defeat and a major upset according to the best online betting sites when he went two sets down to Grigor Dimitrov, but the Bulgarian suffered a torn pectoral muscle and was forced to retire.
The Italian produced a commanding performance in his semi-final against Novak Djokovic, though the Serbian veteran was also playing through pain after sustaining an injury in the quarter-final after an awkward fall.
Still, few can argue with Sinner’s qualification to the grand finale, where he will be aiming to claim his first Grand Slam victory on the grass surface, with all three of his previous titles coming on the hardcourt, two in Melbourne and one in New York.
Sinner is now the third Italian to reach a Wimbledon Singles final and the first male to do so since Matteo Berrettini in 2021. Should he go on to win the tournament, he will be the first man from Italy to lift the Wimbledon trophy ever.
Alcaraz eyes three-peat in Wimbledon final

Carlos Alcaraz returns to Centre Court to defend his title for a third straight time, and he does so with a major psychological edge, having produced one of the greatest comebacks we’ve ever seen when he clinched the Roland Garros crown from Sinner a month ago.
That match has since been dubbed one of the best Grand Slam finals of all time, as it provided a little bit of everything, including a marathon five sets, three tiebreaks, and a mesmeric display of power and precision from both players. However, the Spaniard ultimately came out on top.
With that victory, Alcaraz now holds the clear upper hand in the head-to-head standings between these two titans of the court. In their 12 matches, Alcaraz has beaten Sinner eight times, including in each of their last five showdowns.
Sinner has not beaten Alcaraz on any surface since 2023!
It is no secret that the Spaniard also thrives on the grass compared to the Italian, whose best performances have come on the hard surface. As a result, it’s unsurprising to see Alcaraz currently installed as the favourite according to the latest Wimbledon betting odds.
In terms of how he got here, Alcaraz largely eased his way through the field again this year. Barring an opening round scare against Fabio Fognini, the 23-year-old rumbled to the semi-final, where he took out the American number one, Taylor Fritz, in four sets.
Should Alcaraz overcome Sinner for a sixth straight time on Sunday evening, he will join an elite group of tennis legends that includes Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, as the only male players to have won Wimbledon three times in a row.
