After two weeks of gruelling battle, only two teams remain standing at the 2025 EuroBasket Women's tournament, with Spain set to take on Belgium in what is expected to be a blockbuster final showdown at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Greece on Sunday.

Belgian Cats aiming for back-to-back EuroBasket titles

June 29 brings us a jam-packed card from the courts at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Greece, and you can check out our Women's Eurobasket 2025 predictions ahead of the tip-off of each match scheduled for the day.

Belgium are set to return to the EuroBasket final on Sunday and are looking to secure another victory over the Spaniards - one that would see them become the first back-to-back winners of the competition since La Roja in 2017 and 2019.

The Belgian Cats have gotten the better of Spain in recent times, having bested the number three-ranked team in the world in the previous edition of this competition, 64-58 in 2023, while they also eliminated them in the quarter-final of the Paris Olympic Games last year.

The defending EuroBasket champions came through the group stage with flying colours, beating Portugal 81-52 in their opening match before dispatching Montenegro 87-53 and Czechia 72-60 in their next two round-robin matchups.

Belgium ousted Germany 83-59 in the quarter-final but faced a tough task against Italy, who almost mounted a sensational comeback in the semis, though the Cats weathered to storm and held on to record a slender 66-64 victory. Don’t forget to take a look at our Spain vs Belgium prediction for our experts’ insights.

Belgium have now won 12 consecutive matches at EuroBasket!

Indeed, to find the Cats’ last defeat in the competition, you’d have to look all the way back to June 2021, when they came up short against Serbia. Another victory on Sunday will see Belgium become the team with the fourth-longest win streak in tournament history.

Emma Meesseman has been incredible again this year and could be 40 minutes away from claiming her second consecutive MVP title. The 32-year-old is averaging 19.8 PPG in the competition and shooting a stunning 73% from the field.

Spain seek revenge in EuroBasket final showdown

Meanwhile, Spain are set to step out in their seventh EuroBasket Final and are hoping to reclaim the title for the first time since 2019 when they demolished France 86-66 - a result that earned them their fifth triumph in the competition.

Additionally, this is the perfect opportunity for La Roja to exact their revenge for the loss to the Belgian Cats in 2023 and at the Olympic Games last year. However, it should be noted that all of the Spaniard’s EuroBasket titles have come against one nation - France.

Still, Spain have looked very strong this year, recording victories over Great Britain (85-70) and Germany (79-60) in their first two matches, before holding their nerve to overcome Sweden 78-75 in overtime in their final group-stage match.

In the quarter-final, La Roja defeated the Czechs 88-81, but their undisputed best performance of the competition came in the semi-final, where they came from seven points down at the half to edge France 65-64. All the up-to-the-moment action is available on our EuroBasket Women livescore tool.

The last 10 matches between Spain and Belgium have produced five wins apiece!

However, one major difference coming into the 2025 EuroBasket final is that Spain have undergone a significant overhaul over the last year, with six new faces featuring in their first major tournament, while only three existing players remain from the 2023 edition.

While Raquel Carrera is the leading scorer for the Spanish ladies with 13.0 PPG in the competition, the team’s major strength has been their depth. Awa Fam, at just 19 years of age, stepped up in a big way in the semi-final, ending as the top-scorer with 21 points on 9 of 13 shooting from the field.
