Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
Liverpool looks to end their incredibly poor run of form when it takes on Crystal Palace at Anfield. The problem now is they face an opponent, a Palace side that’s beaten them in back-to-back games, and is determined to make it three in a row. Check our Liverpool vs Crystal Palace prediction to get more details.
Liverpool have failed to take a single win against Crystal Palace in 2025. The first was in the final Premier League game last season, where The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw at home. Then, that was followed by a Community Shield Cup win for The Eagles at the start of the season before another 2-1 home win for Palace, which began Liverpool’s four-game losing streak.
Liverpool has now lost five of its last six games, with the latest coming against Brentford in a 3-2 defeat. Palace, meanwhile, only recently ended an 18-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, which was the longest at the time. They too now look to turn around an underwhelming string of performances that's seen The Eagles winless in their last four games, which included three losses.
Arsenal vs Brighton
Although Arsenal is heavily favoured by the best football odds to beat Brighton, that's going to be a tough task against a Seagulls’ side that's been a thorn against the Gunners in recent years. In fact, the last time these two clashed in the EFL Cup, Brighton knocked out Arteta’s Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates.
Then, in the just-concluded Premier League season, Brighton managed to secure 1-1 draws both home and away, shaving off four crucial points from the 11 Arsenal needed to win the league. However, Arsenal is on much hotter form this season, winning their last seven games in a row with only two goals conceded.
What's more, Arsenal are unbeaten at home this season, winning seven of their eight so far, with only a 1-1 draw to Manchester City staining that record. Still, they face a Brighton side that's more than capable of a major upset, which they've shown to Arsenal several times already. The Seagulls are now unbeaten in eight of their 11 matches this season, and have only failed to score in one game.
Newcastle vs Tottenham
Round 4 of the Carabao Cup might've just saved the best for last, as Newcastle, the title defenders, take on Tottenham in the final game. Interestingly, while these two sides look equal on paper, with little to separate them on form and squad strength, Newcastle is the clear favorite after absolutely dominating Tottenham in their rivalry.
Newcastle have won three competitive games against Tottenham in a row, and taken victories in five of their last six meetings. Outside H2H, what's also making The Magpies look more convincing is their slightly superior lineup, which looks solid all round compared to Tottenham, with gaps in their 11 that have only been further weakened by injuries.
Still, we can't write off the Spurs, considering their better performance this season. Tottenham now sits at 3rd place in the league, having lost two games while scoring the most goals in the EPL so far. Newcastle did struggle at the beginning of the season, with one win in their opening six games. However, The Magpies seem to have found their footing in recent games, winning four of their last five games, with three clean sheets.
