Xinyu Wang vs Yulia Putintseva Prediction & Betting Tips - Thailand Open

Third seed Xinyu Wang and seventh seed Yulia Putintseva will square off in the quarterfinals at the Thailand Open. Xinyu Wang has defeated Putitseva both times they have met before. The first meeting was back in September while the more recent matchup was a month ago in Auckland. Both meetings have been on hard courts. Considering she is a former Thailand Open semifinalist, Wang will be confident of success here. Wang made the last four here last season in what was her second appearance. The 22-year-old has had a wobbly start to the year and has so far compiled a 4-3 record. She defeated Nao Hibino in straight sets in the last round. Wang’s first-round tie ended prematurely as Emina Bektas was forced to retire during the first set. She is currently down four places to 44th in the live ranking.

Yulia Putintseva is making her second appearance in Hua Hin. Last season she did not go past the first round. The Kazakh, who is now up to 68th in the live ranking, has won six of nine matches so far this year. She also made the quarterfinals in Hobart so will be eager to advance past the round for the first time this season. Putintseva has been on the court for four hours and 33 minutes so far in Hua Hin. This is two hours and 29 minutes more than Wang. She needed a third set to win her tournament opener against Thasaporn Naklo. In the second round, she defeated Viktorija Golubic in straight sets with both sets requiring a tiebreaker. The winner here will advance to face either Dalma Galfi or Diana Shnaider for a place in the final.
