West Ham welcomes Burnley to the Olympic Stadium in this Premiership encounter. The home team are in 6th position with 51 points while the visitors are in 18th position with 24 points. West Ham had an excellent 3-0 away win over Lyon in the Europa League in their last match. They are in the Europa playoff positions in the league but will be eyeing a top four position to gain qualification into the Champions League. They are six points behind the fourth placed team but have played an extra game. West Ham have only won two of their last five league matches but at home they have won four of their last five matches,drawing one. They have failed to score in five of their last eight Premier League matches against Burnley but have scored 24 out of a possible 27 points against teams in the relegation zone when playing at home.

Burnley have responded to their poor season by sacking long serving manager Sean Dyche who was in charge at the club for almost ten years. It remains to be seen if the new manager can create a turnaround in the last seven matches of the season. On the table there are four points away from safety and urgently need to pick up points so they can catch Everton in 17th place who are four points ahead. They have won just once in their last seven league matches with that win coming against Everton. Their away record in the league makes for disastrous reading as they have only won once in their last sixteen away matches. Burnley have won twice in their last four visits to West Ham as many wins as they have had in the 21 matches previous to this. Much of their recent problems has been because of their defence as they have conceded at least two goals in their last six matches.
