In form West Brom host Plymouth Argyle in an intriguing battle of styles in the Championship on Saturday. Carlos Corberan’s Baggies sit at the table after five games, while they face a Plymouth side who moved up to 16th in the table after their first league win last weekend under manager Wayne Rooney. Will our prediction back WBA to win the match, or are we backing the Pilgrims to progress?
It has been a very strong start to the season for West Brom, who went top of the table last weekend after Sunderland’s surprise loss against the team the Baggies face today. Defensively, WBA have been superb, conceding the fewest goals in the Championship so far (two) while rattling in nine at the other end.
Along with Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United, they are one of the three teams that remain unbeaten in the league this season.
They warmed up for this fixture by completing a comprehensive 3-0 win over Portsmouth at Fratton Park last weekend.
Wayne Rooney finally witnessed a win for his new side last weekend when they defeated previous table-toppers Sunderland 3-2 at Home Park. That win came courtesy of Joe Edwards' 93rd-minute strike and moved Plymouth out of the relegation zone.
Before that, Argyle had not won any of their previous four games and had managed just two 1-1 draws in the league (at home to Hull and away to QPR), alongside defeats to Sheffield Wednesday (4-0) and Stoke City (1-0).
As such, the Devonian side started this game away to the league leaders as the long-odds underdogs to land the win.

Our West Brom vs Plymouth Prediction
Our prediction for West Bromwich Albion vs. Plymouth Argyle is: West Brom to win to nil.
The home side Baggies sit top of the Championship table after five games, amassing 13 points out of 15 so far this season. That's a sharp contrast to Plymouth who picked up their first league win of the season last weekend against Sunderland. This is as tough as it gets as an away trip in the Championship for the visitors. The data strongly suggests that West Brom should win this game without the visitors finding the net.
