An inter-conference clash in the NBA sees the East’s 14th-place Washington Wizards hosting the West’s 10th-placed Utah Jazz. There’s no respite for the Wizards in their difficult season as they come into this game following a 118-107 defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves on their home court last night. They’ll now suit up again 24 hours later to contest the second leg of a home back to back. The Wiz are seeking just their eighth win of the 2023/24 season with their current 7-36 record ranking as the second-worst in the NBA. The hosts are on a five-game losing streak ahead of Thursday night’s matchup. Washington has allowed their opponents an average of 120.8 points per game during their current five game losing streak. This isn’t new to the Wizards who are allowing the most opponent points in the entire league.

The Utah Jazz will be looking to close the gap on the eighth-place Mavericks who they currently trail by 2.5 games. The visitors are coming into this contest off the back of a 153-124 blowout loss to the Pelicans on Tuesday, marking their third consecutive defeat in a row. The 153 points was also the most the team has given up in the 2023/24 season as the Pels shot 58% from the field and drained 23 of 46 three-pointers. It was yet another high-scoring game for Utah who have made it a habit recently. The Jazz offense has been able to put up a few high points totals of their own as of late, cracking the 140 mark against Toronto two weeks ago and the 150 mark against Detroit in the beginning of the month.
