Washington Wizards vs Toronto Raptors Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA

Two struggling Eastern Conference teams meet when the 14th-place Washington Wizards host the 12th-placed Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. If not for the historically bad play of the Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs, more attention would likely be on just how inept Washington has been so far. The Wiz suffered a 127-119 home loss to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, their second straight and eighth defeat in the last 10. Washington has managed only five total wins this campaign with over a third of the season already in the books. Their 5-24 record is just slightly better than the 4-25 Spurs and 2-28 Pistons. To make things even more difficult for Washington, they’ll be playing the second leg of a back-to-back here. The silver lining at least is that they will have avoided travel fatigue with both games being played at the Capital One Center. 

Toronto is seemingly in a transition year as they adapt to a new head coach and cope with the loss of former All-Star Fred VanVleet. At 11-18 on the season, they currently sit 12th in the East and find themselves 1.5 games behind the Bulls for the final Play-in spot. The Raptors are coming off an ugly 126-119 home loss to a Jazz team that has struggled mightily as the visitors this season. Toronto will now have to take their game on the road where they have experienced plenty of their own problems. Rajakovic’s men have won just three of their 12 trips so far this season and are in the midst of a three game losing streak overall. What’s more, the Raptors haven’t won an away game in over a month, losing their last five straight on the road.
