The Washington Wizards will welcome the New York Knicks next in the NBA looking to get back to winning ways. Washington is at the moment languishing at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and sits 14th, seven places behind New York. The Wizards have found it hard to win matches and so far have managed just six wins in 34 outings. They arrive for this fixture having lost three in a row. Wes Unseld’s men are coming off a back-to-back in Cleveland. After losing by 39 in the first game, they did a bit better in the second and lost by 24. Washington had to do without Landry Sahmet in their last game in Cleveland and could be forced to do so yet again. The Wizards are the worst defensive team in the league and are allowing 126.2 points a night to their opponents.

The Knicks are in red-hot form at the moment and are favourites to emerge victorious here. Tom Thibodeau’s men have won their last three matches and will now target to win four consecutively for the first time this season. It is no coincidence that their hot streak has coincided with the big trade made less than a week ago. The Knicks were involved in a midseason trade with the Raptors that saw them get OG Anunoby among others. Anunoby has been a shining light for the team. He has improved their defence as well as scoring in double figures in the three games he has played. The forward scored 11 points as the Knicks blew out the Sixers in Philadelphia by 36 points. They are now five games above .500. New York won 120-90 in the first meeting of the season with Washington.
