Two teams on opposite ends of the Eastern Conference standings face off on Tuesday with the 14th-placed Washington Wizards hosting the second-place Milwaukee Bucks. The Wizards come into this contest looking to put a stop to a three-game losing streak following a 119-107 home defeat to the Miami Heat. There was cause for optimism just one week ago as Washington had ripped off their longest winning streak of the season at three games. However, the loss to Miami means that their record drops to 14-61 on the year. This puts them just a half game above the Pistons as both teams scramble in the final few games to avoid finishing with the league’s worst record. The hosts will be sweating the fitness of leading scorer Kyle Kuzma who missed the previous game against Miami with a heel injury. He’s listed as questionable for this one.

The Bucks will have an extra day’s rest after last taking to the court on Saturday in a 122-113 away win over the Atlanta Hawks. It was another monster game for MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo who stuffed the stat sheet with 36 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one block. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for Doc Rivers’ squad as they moved up to a 47-27 record on the season. With eight games remaining, Milwaukee will attempt to hold off third-place Cleveland who they lead by two games. The best they can finish is second as the Bucks will not catch the first-place Celtics who have an 11 game lead. They’ll have to get by without star point guard Damian Lillard who has been ruled out of this clash with a groin strain.
