Two of the league's worst teams face off on Friday night as the 15th-place Washington Wizards face off against the 13th-placed Charlotte Hornets. The Wizards have the worst record in the NBA with just nine wins and 53 losses from their 62 games. They still have time to shed themselves of that title if they are able to string a few victories together in the final 20 games of the season. However, with the way things have been going, fans will be more concerned with the team not breaking the consecutive losses record that was tied by Detroit earlier this season. Washington has now lost their last 16 games on the spin following the latest 119-109 home defeat to the Orlando Magic. The hosts have been a nightmare on the defensive side of the ball this season and are giving up a league high 124.6 points per game.

The Hornets have been better than their opponents this season, albeit not by much. Charlotte's record of 15 wins and 47 defeats has them ahead of three other teams for the fourth-worst record in the NBA. The Hornets were abysmal in their most recent appearance, tallying only 89 points in a 101-89 home defeat to the Magic. The loss was Charlotte's fifth in a row although only their sixth in the last 10 games overall. The visitors have shown recently that they can win games as they had managed a four-game winning streak just two weeks ago. LaMelo Ball missed out yet again in the loss to Orlando despite not having been on the injury report for a number of weeks. It's becoming less and less likely that we'll see the young franchise player back on the court for Charlotte this season with each passing game.
