Sunday afternoon in the NBA sees the Washington Wizards searching for their first winning streak of the season when they host the Atlanta Hawks. With a 6-25 record, Wizards fans have had very little to be excited about this season. However, following a 110-104 home victory over the Nets on Friday, Washington has the chance to win two straight for the first time in the 2023/24 campaign. It will be the fourth and final game in their four game home stand before hitting the road to take on the Cavs. The Wizards have now won three of their 13 outings at the Capital One Center, a slight improvement on the 3-15 mark they have as the visiting team. The 104 points allowed was the second best defensive performance for the Wizards this season, the first of which coincidentally also came against Brooklyn in a 102-94 loss. 

Atlanta has been plummeting down the Eastern Conference standings as they have now lost the last four games in a row. A 117-110 loss to the Sacramento Kings was the latest in a streak that also includes defeats against the Heat, Grizzlies and Bulls. The Hawks are now 12-19 on the year and sitting in 11th-place. They're is in desperate need of a ‘get right’ game and will be hoping that the lowly Wizards will provide just that. What’s hurt them lately is their dip in offensive production, failing to crack the 120 points mark in four straight games. The Hawks will be sweating the fitness of star point guard Trae Young who is listed on the injury report with a right-knee contusion. However, the 25-year-old is also listed as probable and should feature.
