Waalwijk are facing a tall order this weekend, as they look to arrest Ajax’s goal machine. The hosts have done remarkably well however this season. They are sitting seventh in the standings, being unbeaten in their last four league games. They did however suffer a shocking upset in midweek, losing 2-0 against third division side De Treffers and getting knocked out of the Dutch cup. When it comes to their form at the Mandemakers Stadion, Waalwijk have accrued eight points from five games, losing just once in their last five there yet conceding eight of those games. In fact, the hosts have managed to let in five goals in their last three home games, while they have lost all of their previous eight encounters against Ajax in front of their own fans. 

Ajax returned to their usual impeccable domestic standards at the weekend, responding to two dismal continental showings against Napoli with a 7-1 thrashing of Excelsior. It has been tough on the road recently for Alfred Schreuder’s men however. They have lost three of their last four away games conceding ten goals in the process, but on the upside have triumphed at Waalwijk in their last eight outings there.
