The 2-3 Utah Jazz host the 2-2 Orlando Magic in Salt Lake City for this East vs West battle in the NBA on Thursday. The Jazz come into this matchup off the back of snapping a two game losing streak thanks to a 133-109 home win over the Memphis Grizzlies. It was the second home win in three appearances for the Jazz who finished last season with a much better home mark than away. Utah managed to win 23 of their 41 home games last year compared to just 14 wins on the road. They’ll have to deal with potentially tired legs as they play the second leg of a back-to-back and their third game in the past four days. Luckily, the Jazz starters were able to get some extra rest as their blowout victory allowed them to rest their starting five.

The Magic will be looking to snap out of a two game losing streak. Orlando started out the year in positive form with two wins from their first two games. However, they’ve now suffered back-to-back losses to the Lakers and the Clippers, the latter of which ended 118-102. The 118 points allowed was the highest total that the Magic have given up so far this season. They’ve only cracked 115 points once, which could come back to bite them in a matchup against a Jazz team that ranked fifth in scoring last year and ranks 11th this season. This is the last of a four game west coast trip for the Magic who will be looking forward to getting back to Florida.
