Defending NBA champions, the LA Lakers head to Utah Jazz bidding to avoid a fourth straight defeat. The slump in form has seen them lose top spot in the Western Conference Pacific Division. They now trail the LA Clippers with both teams having a 22-10 season record. The Lakers face a tough battle in this game with Utah Jazz on 25-6 for the season and topping both the Northwest division and the Western Conference. A third straight loss didn't look likely when in their most recent game, the Lakers led the Washington Wizards by 17 points in the third quarter. They ended up losing the game 127-124 after overtime. The defeat followed losses to the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat. Only one of their last five games have been won and it's going to be difficult to get back into winning ways at Utah.

The home side are seven wins clear of the Portland Trailblazers in the Northwest division of the Western Conference. Their home form is highly impressive with only two of their 16 games being lost this season. They are having a fantastic February with ten of their 11 games played ending in victory. They had won nine in a row before losing away at the LA Clippers by four points. That followed an 18 point win in their previous game against the Clippers two days before the defeat. They actually started the season with two home losses, so they will be out to make it 15 home wins in a row in this game.
