The roller-coaster 2020 PBA Philippine Cup season will come to a close as Barangay Ginebra and TNT will vie for the title in a ‘best-of-seven’ final starting on Sunday. Barangay Ginebra will start their quest for a first PBA Philippine Cup since 2006-07 when they start the ‘best of seven’ final against TNT Tropang Giga who are looking for their first title since 2012-13.

Ginebra topped the regular season with an 8-3 win-loss record and defeated Rain or Shine 81-73 in the quarterfinals before getting the better of Meralco 3-2 in the semi-finals. Ginebra needed a game-winning three-pointer from Scottie Thompson to defeat Meralco and have a great chance of ending their 13-year All-Filipino title drought.

TNT finished third in the group standings with a 7-4 win-loss record and defeated Alaska 104-83 in the quarterfinals. Like Ginebra, TNT needed five games to go past Phoenix 3-2 in the semis. TNT staved off elimination against Phoenix before winning the do-or-die game with ease. In the finals for the first time in seven seasons, TNT will hope that their drought will be erased.
