Spal vs Roma Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

Roma begin a big week with a trip to Spal in Serie A.  Just days before the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie against Liverpool, they have an important league game. Midweek saw Roma keep third place in the table with a 2-1 home win over Genoa needing an own goal for the winner. They have no hope of catching the top two but need a top four finish to guarantee Champions League football next season but are only a point clear of fifth placed Inter. Roma have just the one loss in their last seven league games and away from home are unbeaten in the last eight. Their loss at league leaders Juventus in late December is their only away loss in the last 23 games compared to their six home league defeats this season, though they did get a 3-1 home win over Spal last December.

The home side are battling relegation and are only a point above the bottom three with five games to play. They have only won five league games this season but are the draw experts with 14, equal highest wiith Torino. Spal have drawn their last six league games, half finishing 1-1 and the rest 0-0. Before that they'd won two in a row so are on a seven game unbeaten run at present. Home form has seen them draw the last three and they have only conceded one goal in their last four home league games but have only won three home league games all season scoring just 17 times. Both sides need the points from this match but it'll be interesting to see if Roma rest any players ahead of the Champions League semi-final. A bet on under 2.5 goals is the suggstion here.
