Huddersfield Town’s friendly match against Oldham Athletic has been called off and the team will be heading to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday in their first round League Cup clash. The two sides agreed to face off in the cup game ahead of the new league season, and they settled for Sunday 1 August. Sheffield, relegated from the Championship last season, starts life in League One right after this game, and will want a strong start to their competitive season. They wrapped up preseason in strong fashion, with a win over Port Vale, recovering from straight losses to Barnsley and West Bromwich Albion. In their last five matches, they have three wins and two clean sheets, which they will be looking to build on. They however have no win in the last three home matches, and failed to score in two.
