Any fears that Scotland might go the same way as South Africa and lose to Japan lingered for a fair while on Wednesday. The game was close for the first half and the early part of the second half but then Scotland managed to pull away from their opponents. A 45-10 win gave them a bonus point too and they'll be looking for more of the same when they face the USA this weekend.  The more points they can get on the board, the more confidence they can build will be excellent for when they battle South Africa next month. Winning the pool is a definite possibility for the Scots.  USA won't be a walkover by any stretch. They only lost 25-16 to Samoa in their opening game but this is obviously a much tougher game for the Americans  who still have to play South Africa and Japan. The world has certainly moved on since USA were Olympic champions in the 1920s and they have never qualified for the quarter finals of the world cup.  Scotland are in good form and they should be able to win this game with ease and overcome the -23 handicap to give us a win.
