Wouldn't you love to know what Scotland were thinking when watching Japan beat South Africa on Saturday? Part of them would have been smiling as the pool favourites lost with the other half hoping they wouldn't be facing a similar fate on Wednesday.  Just why Scotland haven't played yet and Japan have to take to the field for the second day in five days is beyond this writer. It must give Scotland a big advantage here and it could well be coming too soon for a Japanese side celebrating its biggest ever win. Scotland have been strengthened by the addition of a few overseas players who are now qualified to play for Scotland.  Form leading into the tournament hasn't been bad with a convincing win over Italy. Scotland have won all four of their games against Japan and winning by an average of 44 points per game.  Such a comfortable win isn't on the cards here. Japan gave South Africa the shock of their lives on Saturday and were highly impressive against the Springbok's forwards.  Can they repeat that effort against the Scots and virtually qualify for the quarter finals for the first time?
