A huge clash atop the PBA Governors’ Cup standings sees the San Miguel Beermen taking on TNT Tropang Giga. Both clubs are sitting on a current record of seven wins and one defeat heading into the final three games before the start of the playoffs and have each already gained automatic passage to the quarterfinals of the playoffs. The Beermen claim the top spot, however, as their superior points differential gives them the slight edge over second-place TNT. San Miguel is coming off a huge result against rivals Ginebra after a close 102-99 victory which saw the Beermen hold off the Gin Kings late run where they were trailing by 11 points with two minutes remaining in the game. This is the final game before both teams depart to compete for the East Asia Super League in the beginning of March and will return to their PBA duties in the middle of the month. 

TNT claimed an important 111-104 win over the Meralco Bolts thanks to a virtuoso performance by former NBA first round pick Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. RHJ put up 34 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in the win to make it five straight wins for Tropang Giga following the team’s matchday 3 loss to NLEX Road Warriors back in the beginning of February. Hollis-Jefferson has now played in two games with his new team as TNT made a real statement of intent by bringing in the former Brooklyn Net and his impact has been immediate as he also put up 37 points in his debut. However, TNT might be without star local product Roger Pogoy after the 30-year-old left the game with an apparent foot injury. It remains to be seen whether Pogoy suits up for this clash or whether TNT opt to be conservative with the EASL games coming up.
