The Sacramento Kings had a February to forget but it had a reasonably happy ending. They had lost nine successive games before winning against the Detroit Pistons. Not the greatest of wins as their opponents have only won nine matches this season and are bottom of the Eastern Conference. A win is a win though and it took the Kings to a season record of 13-20. They remain bottom of the Western Conference Pacific Division but still have faint hopes of getting into postseason. They are 13th but only one win behind tenth place. Their home record is 7-11 but only two of six games against other sides in their division have been won.

Charlotte Hornets are 15-17 for this season but that's good enough to be second in the Eastern Conference South East Division. That's only one win behind the Miami Heat who are 16-17. They are 10th overall in the Eastern Conference so still very much in with a chance of reaching the final stages. They need a win here as three of their last five games have ended in defeat. They are up against the team with the worst defensive record in the NBA. They have scored at least 120 points in each of their last two games and surely will do well against Sacramento.
