Rinky Hijikata vs Frances Tiafoe Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Stuttgart Open

Both of these players were involved in long matches in the first round of the BOSS Open in Stuttgart. Sixth seed Frances Tiafoe takes on unseeded Rinky Hijikata for a place in the last eight. With both used to playing long matches, our prediction is more than 21.5 games.

Either fourth seed Jiri Lehecka or unseeded James Duckworth will be faced in the quarter-finals.

Frances Tiafoe needed three sets to get past Daniel Altmaier in the first round. That included a tie-break and the American has played nine in his last four matches. He has a good record in this ATP 250 tournament, lifting the trophy three years ago.

Tiafoe leads Hijikata 3-1 in previous meetings but the Australian won their only match played on grass when Tiafoe retired. Three of their previous four meetings saw more than 21.5 games being played in the match.

Rinky Hijikata is playing his second grass court tournament of the year. He was a quarter-finalist in last week's Birmingham Challenger Tour event. Round one here saw him beat Tom Gentzsch in three sets after losing the opening set.  Three of his last four matches have seen more than 21.5 games played.

He last reached an ATP Tour grass court quarter-final in 2024.
