PSV qualified for this match by winning the Eredivisie title last year with a record 91-point haul and a seven-point lead over Feyenoord, who are their opponents this weekend. Feyenoord qualified for the Super Cup by winning the KNVB Cup while going past PSV during that process.

PSV Eindhoven - Feyenoord: Form Analysis
PSV had a dream season last year in the Eredivisie, winning the title seven points clear of the rest. They lost only once in the entire season and are looking to continue that form into this campaign. They didn’t have the best of starts in their pre-season friendlies after a 3-0 loss to Anderlecht. However, they have tightened things up since then and would remain unbeaten in three, including two straight wins.
PSV has won the last three Super Cups.
That means manager Peter Bosz will have a lot of pressure to live up to the standards. In fact, their victory last season came via a 1-0 win over Feyenoord, and a repeat would give the fans a lot to cheer about this weekend.
In order to improve on last year's second-place Eredivisie finish, Feyenoord will try to dash such hopes. They did win the KNVB Beker tournament and also defeated PSV along the way, but it is the league title that they will be aiming for this season.
The visitors won’t be looking at their form in the friendlies for inspiration as they come to terms with the departure of coach Arne Slot, who joined Liverpool in the summer. Feyenoord are still warming up to new boss Brian Priske, but a 5-0 defeat to Benfica and a 3-1 loss to Monaco in the lead-up to this match aren’t helping one bit.
