by Ian John | in Championship Predictions
Monday night in the Championship could well see new champions crowned, or we could see the title being decided on the final day. All will be revealed when Preston host Leicester City at Deepdale in the penultimate game of the season for both teams. The home side lie 10th in the table and out of contention for the playoffs after a run of three defeats in their last three games. That included last weekend when they lost 1-0 away to Queens Park Rangers. With just one win in their last six, Ryan Lowe’s team have allowed their season to peter out after a promising campaign for the most part. They will have support from Ipswich and Leeds fans who will be hoping Preston can do them a favour and stop Leicester taking the three points they need.
Enzo Maresca’s Leicester should probably have had the Championship title wrapped up a long time ago. They had a ten-point lead at one point and it seemed inevitable that they would go up as champions. However, a stunning loss of form, which has seen them lose six of their last 12 games, saw both Ipswich Town and Leeds United close the gap. Leicester are now top by four points over Leeds, while Ipswich five points adrift in third but with a game in hand. Both Leeds and Ipswich play Saturday and if they fail to win, and Leicester win here, the Foxes will be Champions. However, Leicester have lost all their last three away games 1-0, but they warmed up for this game with a sensational 5-0 win over Southampton in midweek.

Our Preston North End vs Leicester Prediction
Trying to pick a trend from the data for this game was a tough task! Both teams' form has been somewhat eccentric over the last few weeks. Leicester have been sensational at home, but have lost all their last three away. Preston have been poor at home, poor away, but have had the occasional big win and have beaten both Leeds and Ipswich at home this season. However, recent Leicester away games and Preston home games have seen relatively few goals. Therefore, our prediction for Preston v Leicester is to back Under 2.5 Goals and Both teams to score: No.
