Algeria play their final match in Group F knowing they have already qualified for the main round. They face a tough final group fixture up against leaders Portugal. The top three in this group go into the main round and Algeria begin this match in third place. They are two points ahead of Morocco but can't finish below them after beating them in their opening group match. Algeria had to come from behind to win that match but then were beaten by Iceland in their second game. They lost that 39-24 after another poor first half display. In two games so far, Algeria have scored 18 points in the first half but conceded 37. Results against other qualifiers are carried through to the main round, a loss here means Algeria won't have any at all.

Portugal are also through to the main round but in a more convincing manner. They started the group with a surprise 25-23 win over Iceland and then defeated Morocco 33-20. The Portuguese had a tougher match than expected against the group's bottom side. It was 12-12 at half time but they overwhelmed their opponents in the second half. A win in this final group game will see them carrying four points forward to the main round, giving them a good chance of reaching the knock-out stages. They should be able to achieve that with ease, bet on them to win on a -8 handicap.
