The Minnesota Timberwolves travel to play the Portland Trail Blazers as the two teams begin their 2025/26 NBA season. This series ended 2-2 last season. Read on to find our prediction for this match.
The Blazers won both times they hosted the Timberwolves last year. They will hope to maintain this winning run when they host their latest duel. Chauncey Billups’s men, though much improved, had a disappointing campaign last year.
They once again missed the postseason after finishing the season with a 36-46 record. At home, Portland put up a much better account of themselves and registered 22 of their victories at the Moda Center.
Damian Lillard has returned to the team, though he is expected to miss the entire campaign with injury. Scoot Henderson is unavailable for this opener. The Blazers, who won just one of four preseason games, lost 132-129 to the Jazz to end their preps.
The Timberwolves also had a torrid time preparing for the new season. Chris Finch’s men, who are among the favorites to win the West, won just two of six friendlies.
They were outscored 126-110 in Philadelphia in their final build-up game. Minnesota, who won both of their respective home games against Portland last year, made the conference finals last season.
That was the second consecutive season they had done so. They finished the regular campaign sixth with a 49-33 record.
