The second quarter-finals of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championship will see Poland taking on Turkey on Wednesday afternoon. The winner of this match between the White and Reds and Filenin Efeleri will face either Italy or Belgium in the semis. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Poland have reached the last eight in the World Championship in each of the last three editions and are the out-and-out favourites to win back the title this year.
The White and Reds topped their group with a perfect record before knocking Canada out of the competition with a 3-1 scoreline in the quarter-finals over the weekend.
Kamil Semeniuk racked up 18 points against the North Americans and is Poland’s top scorer in the competition with 49 points, which ranks 15th overall among this year’s top scorers.
Meanwhile, Turkey are enjoying a dream run at the World Championship this year and are guaranteed to improve on their best-ever finish of 11th, which they recorded in 2022.
Filenin Efeleri also won their group with three wins in three, including against Canada and Japan, before pulling off a stunning comeback to beat the Netherlands 3-1 in the last 16.
Adis Lagumdzija had a massive outing against the Dutch with 28 points, which took him to fourth place in the top-scorer standings in the competition with 72 points overall.
