Chilean Alejandro Tabilo has another match against Novak Djokovic at the Masters level, this time in Monte Carlo. The two face off in the second round with the winner meeting Valentin Vacherot or Grigor Dimitrov next. Read on for our prediction.

Despite his struggles in the year, Djokovic remains a favorite to go all the way at Monte Carlo. The Serbian disappointingly lost to Jakub Mensik at the Miami Masters final in his last game.

That was his first final of the year and he has compiled a 12-5 record so far. Even as a two-time winner here, Djokovic has seen pain through his 41-15 record at Monte Carlo. It has been a decade since he last won this title.

Tabilo’s only meeting with Djokovic so far was at the Rome Masters last season and he won in straight sets. As much as he would like a repeat of that, his form this year says otherwise.

He started out at this event with a gritty 2-1 win over Stan Wawrinka but the level of Djokovic’s challenge will be a step higher. That win in the first round only lifted his season’s record to 3-9.

In his five matches on clay so far, Tabilo only managed one win, and facing a former champion at Monte Carlo doesn’t lift hopes a lot.
