Norway are already qualified for the 2022 Women's European Handball Championships semi-finals. They top Group I in the main round and play second placed Denmark in their final group fixture. The Norwegians are the reigning World and European champions and on course to retain this title. They won all three of their preliminary group games and were the only country to reach three figures for goals scored, totalling 102 in three matches. In the main group, Norway have continued their good form with wins over both Sweden and Slovenia.

Denmark are in second place and if holding onto that position will make it into the semi-finals. They will already be there if Sweden fail to beat Croatia in the earlier game in this group. They finished second in their preliminary group beating Sweden in their final fixture after an earlier loss to Slovenia. In the main group, they have beaten Hungary and Croatia.
