New Orleans and Chicago get their 2024/25 NBA campaigns underway on Wednesday evening when they face off at the Smoothie King Center. We’ve got a prediction ready for you in this match between the Pelicans and the Bulls!
New Orleans will be out to build upon last season’s 49-33 record which saw them enter the playoffs as the eighth seed in a competitive Western Conference. While they put together a solid regular season, the Pels would be swept in the first round of the playoffs by top-seeded OKC.
The offseason saw the front office make significant changes with no fewer than six players all being shipped out. The big acquisition is undoubtedly Dejounte Murray, who is one of the league’s best two-way guards.
On the other side, the Bulls also made wholesale changes to their team as they clearly target a rebuild. They parted ways with both Demar Derozan and Alex Caruso in the offseason and Zach Lavine could soon follow.
Chicago finished last season with a 39-43 record, earning them a spot in the play-in tournament where they would eventually lose out to Miami. There are still many questions hanging over this Bulls team as the new season starts, both in terms of personnel and game plan.
